Vladimir Filippovich Muschanov – Vice-Rector for Research, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Academy of Construction of Ukraine, corresponding member of the Academy of Architecture of Ukraine, specialist accredited by the International Institute of Civil Engineers (MICE).

Born on 10/22/1954 in Makeyevka, Donetsk region.

In 1977 he graduated with honors from the Makeyevsky Civil Engineering Institute with a degree in Industrial and Civil Engineering.

He worked as a process engineer in Yaroslavl (Russia), served in the Soviet Army (Far Eastern Military District).

Since 1979, he has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical work: junior researcher at the Laboratory of the Ministry of Installation and Construction of the Ukrainian SSR at MakISI, postgraduate student of the Moscow Kuibyshev Institute of Civil Engineering, junior researcher of the research sector, assistant, associate Professor of MakISI, doctoral student of the Department of DONGAS Metal Structures, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (since 1987) Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (2000-2001), Vice-Rector for Research (since 2001)

In 1987 he defended his thesis of Candidate of Technical Sciences, in 1997 – Doctor of Technical Sciences, in 1998 received the title of professor

Author of 16 normative documents of Ukraine, 300 scientific, educational and methodical works, including 8 monographs in co-authorship: “Algorithms for calculating steel structures” (M., Stroyizdat, 1989), “Linear and nonlinear problems of elasticity theory in calculations of thin-walled structures” (Makeyevka, DonGASA. 2000), “Structures of stationary coverings over stadium stands” (Makeyevka, DonNASA. 1st edition 2002, 2nd edition 2008), “Efficiency of energy construction and operation in Ukraine” (Makeyevka, DonNASA. 2008), “Scientific foundations for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mine copres” (Makeyevka, DONNASA, 1st edition 2012, 2nd edition 2013), “Monitoring systems for the technical condition of load-bearing metal structures of buildings and structures” (Makeyevka, DonNASA, 2013); 8 textbooks with a stamp MONU, 1 textbook with the stamp UMO DIA, 1 copyright certificate of the USSR and 6 patents of Ukraine.

The results of scientific research are used:

  • when assessing the technical condition and developing a system of measures to ensure the normal operation of large-span membrane-type coatings of the Olympic-80 facilities in Moscow (the Indoor stadium and swimming pool of the Olympic sports Complex, the football and athletics complex and the CSKA Universal Sports Hall, the Izmailovo Universal Sports Hall),
  • during the reconstruction of vertical cylindrical tanks of the Slavyanskaya, Uglegorskaya, Zaporizhia TPP, CJSC “Donetskstroytranssnab”,
  • exhaust shafts of exhaust towers ACCORDING to “Styrol”,
  • when developing stadium construction and reconstruction projects implemented in preparation for EURO 2009 and EURO 2012.

He has trained 8 candidates of sciences and 29 masters. Member of the specialized councils for the defense of dissertations D 01.006.02 (DONNASA). Chairman of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the DPR for Technical sciences, member of the NTS of the Ministry of Construction of the DPR and the Council for Science of the MES of the DPR.
