Annotation: The article gives comparative results of studies of the deformation-strength properties of cold asphalt slag concrete on liquid bitumen-polymer binders. It has been shown that it is possible to improve significantly the deformation-strength characteristics of cold asphalt and slag concrete within an optimal combination of coagulation contacts between slag particles through adsorption-solvate structured layers of organic binder and crystallization-condensation contacts with direct intergrowth of crystals of hydrated slag minerals. It has been established that the ultimate strength increases asphalt structure formation due to the gradual development of the hydration processes of mineral grains of slag. The comparison of traditional cold asphalt concrete and the studied asphalt slag concrete modified with Butonal NS 198 latex or Kraton D 1101 thermoplastic elastomers shows that the compressive strength of the last ones is 1.5 - 1.6 times greater.

Keywords: open-hearth slag, asphalt cinder block, strength, density, polymer modifier.
