Analysis of the existing and prospective development of transport hubs with the participation of railway and other transport’s types (using donetsk city as example)

Annotation: The existing and prospective development of transport hubs with the participation of railway transport and other types of it in Donetsk city are describing in this article. The main global trends in the formation and development of transport hubs are considered here. The current state of transportation by rail, air and road transport in our region and the Donetsk city in particular analyzed. The existing functional zoning’s of the territory around the railway station “Donetsk-2” diagram is given. The results of a field survey of traffic flows at the “Motel” transport hub are presented. The number of moving vehicles in the considered transport hub were obtained and the cartogram was built in the directions of travel. Recommendations for unloading the Donetsk highway by a duplicate road’s creation are offered. We are recommended to create an intercept parking, which will help to reduce the number of cars, entering the city. A schematic diagram of the Donetsk-2 transport interchange hub is presented. In the end, we are giving general conclusions about development of transport hubs and adjacent territories in Donetsk city and region.
