Annotation: Military activities, natural and other disasters are adducting to the total and partly destruction of buildings and structures. These damages, in their turn, are leading to suffering, wounds and even death of people. The aims of rescue operations are finding and releasing people, who are trapped in blockade zone, and providing them with medical aid. The efficiency of rescue operation belongs on many points: fast getting of actual data, selection of a machines’ set, traffic’s route etc. The hoisting machines are using in rescue operations so often. The crane operator cannot always see his working tool - the hook - when he is unblocking blockade zone. That’s why he needs to use slingers’ signals. It’s significantly increases the time, which takes to save people under blockade. The management efficiency and using safety during rescue operations may be improving, if we will use video system of control in hoisting machine’s working zone. The ViSUM video surveillance system has been tested on the overhead crane. As we see in test, it can provide real-time visibility of the lifting mechanism and the load’s position, when crane is using on rescue operation.

Keywords: emergency rescue operations, unblocking of victims, lifting machines, "blind" zone, video surveillance system.
