The scaling and energy saving problems
Annotation: The article discusses an actual problem: contamination of heating surfaces with low-temperature deposits. The influence of supersaturation with respect to the content of calcium carbonate in water, the content of carbon dioxide, the induction period of crystallization and the content of magnesium on the degree of deposition of various polymorphic formations of calcite, aragonite and waterite has been studied. The factors that have a significant effect on the intensity of the processes of contamination of heating surfaces under heat transfer conditions are analyzed. The economic costs as a result of contamination of heating surfaces are analyzed. The possibility of preventing scale formation by influencing certain stages of the process were carried out.
Keywords: scale, supersaturation, crystallization, induction period, carbonate index, calcite.
