Investigation of defects in the valves of the gas distribution mechanism of the UMZ-46 engine after the exhaustion of a resource in heavy operating modes
Annotation: In this article we are presented results of the research: based on the performed visual and instrumental studies of defects and the amount of wear of valves and mating surfaces of valves of the gas distribution mechanism (timing) of the internal combustion engine (ICE) UMZ-4216, which has exhausted its resource on gas fuel (compressed natural gas) in heavy operating modes, the a number of defects are found. The values of changes in the hardness of the surface layer of the characteristic surfaces of the valves during their operation in the engine are determined.
