Annotation: Research about the use of various synthetic resins for soil stabilization was first started in the USSR in 1954 under the guidance of prof. G. S. Petrov at the Chemical-Technological Institute. D. I. Mendeleev with the Scientific Research Institute of Oil and Gas in order to isolate formation waters by creating waterproof screens in oil wells. Researches have shown that the water permeability of sandstones after treatment with carbamide resin decreased by 80-90%. The decrease in the water permeability of sandstones after their treatment with a mixture of urea resin and hardener (acid) occurs as a result of polymerization of the resin in an acidic medium at pH = 4.5. The resulting dense gel is firmly bound to the soil particles and reduces the active porosity of the soil.

Keywords: weak soils, synthetic polymers, reinforcement, construction technologies.
