Annotation: This article presents the thermal power plant’s waste environmental impact analysis. Using the example of the Zuevskaya TPP, the conditions for the formation of waste, their mineral composition, and qualitative and quantitative indicators studied. It has been shown that ash dumps occupy large areas, they are constantly generating dust, and mobile forms of waste are washed away by sediments. There is a negative impact of dumps on the atmosphere, lithosphere and biosphere, including the human body. Disposal of thermal and energy waste has important environmental, economic and energy-saving significance. Among the components of aluminosilicate, those of practical interest are iron-containing magnetic concentrate, secondary coal, microsphere, inert mass of aluminosilicate composition and heavy fraction. A technological scheme for extracting microspheres and related components from fly ash of the Zuevskaya TPP has been developed, taking into account the provision of a closed water recycling system. Extracting useful components from waste materials, followed by their disposal according to the proposed scheme, frees up occupied space and reduces the negative impact on the environment.

Keywords: microsphere, ash, waste, dumps, slags, ash-slag mixture, thermal power plants.
