Damage and accidents of building structures and its impact on the durability of buildings and structures

Annotation: An analysis of various failures and accidents of building structures showed that many of them would not have occurred with a rational organization of the design of work and operation of building structures. At the same time, a review of accidents and damages that have occurred allows us to draw up some practical recommendations for improving design solutions and technological processes of construction production. The article presents the main measures and schemes, where is possible to eliminate the probabilistic occurrence of cases of failure and accidents of structures, and also reflects special attention to the combined impact of wear and sudden failures. In addition, it has been established that the pattern of occurrence of sudden or gradual failures, as well as the likelihood of their joint impact on the structure, can be established with sufficient reliability as a result of statistical processing of extensive experimental data.
