Problems of environmental safety in sea coal ports
Annotation: The role of seaports in the country’s transport infrastructure is complex and multifaceted, ensuring the eff ective functioning and development of the country’s economy. Seaports are key hubs for transporting goods over long distances, which allows to signifi cantly reduce logistics costs and increase the volume of transported goods, making sea transportation the most profi table way of transporting goods. By linking domestic and international trading markets, seaports contribute to the expansion of the country’s export potential. They provide access for domestic producers to foreign markets, which leads to an increase in the volume of exported products and an improvement in the balance of payments. For the sustainable development of the port industry, it is necessary to maintain a social and environmental balance and meet modern safety requirements, which includes increasing port capacity, timely modernization of equipment and the introduction of new technologies, including environmental ones. This article is studying the key problems of the Russian port industry, using coal sea ports as an example, affecting environmental safety, and mechanisms for reducing the impact of environmental risks on port development.
