Management of using mine water
Annotation: Exploited and closed mines create a global problem of environmental pollution. Harmful effects include flooding of areas and their water logging, erosion of soil, pollution of surface waters and adverse effects on public health. The processes of pollution of mine water and the problems of management of their use are considered. With relatively simple treatment, mine water can be used in circulating cooling systems, and when using reverse osmosis, it can be used to obtain deeply desalinated water. The levels of water losses in the cycles of generation of electric energy are estimated.
Keywords: mine water, pollution, purification, energy generation, energy carrier, losses, iron.
