Issues of durability of buildings and structures

Annotation: Recently, designers tend to face the problem of sustainable architecture and ensuring the necessary durability of buildings. The lifetime of buildings depends on the collision of interests to ensure the high commercial value of the object and its strength, which seems to be a contradiction in investment and construction projects. The paper discusses the main aspects of the durability of buildings, such as their technical strength, functional durability, aesthetic longevity and operational life. An overview of factors affecting the average life expectancy of construction objects is presented. The exposure of groups of residential buildings, depending on the life of the main structural elements has been given. The analysis of the properties recommended for recycled or procesed materials has been made.
