Annotation: The possibility of setting up a special purpose stand for vibration-based diagnostics of vehicle internal combustion engines was considered in the article, taking into account the specific requirements imposed on the equipment of this class. The constructs of existing stands for internal combustion engines cold and hot run-in were analyzed; their advantages and disadvantages are presented. The materials for the frame of the stand were selected based on the increased damping capability, the analysis of forces in the stand was calculated, a rough design was created and the main technological equipment was selected.

Keywords: internal combustion engine, diagnostics, technological stand, cold running-in, hot running-in, support frame, vibration sensor, vibration waveform.
