Numerical studies of local defects in the geometric shape of a vertical cylindrical tank
Annotation: The study proposes a modification of the universal computational algorithm for geometric and computer modeling of the tank wall, taking into account the general imperfections of the geometric shape for designing and study of local defects of the geometric shape. The intense deformed state of a number of steel tanks with a volume from 1000m3 to 10000 m3 for storing petroleum products is studied, regarding the local defects under the hydrostatic load in a linear setting. The results of numerical studies are compared with experimental and theoretical data obtained by other researchers.
