Annotation: Design formulas for transformation of strength properties of soil received by standard methodology to be used for numerical analyses based on the octahedral strength theory have been obtained. It has been shown that strength properties of soil relating to octahedral planes are invariant data and do not depend on methods of their obtaining. It has been proved that the choice of methods for determining the standard characteristics of soils will not affect the results of numerical studies. The expediency of using the general theory of strength, which is based on the Mises - Schleicher - Botkin equation, has been demonstrated for calculating foundations composed of cohesive and cohisionless soils and rocky ground, as well as for calculating structures made of concrete, stone and other materials. This is one of the simplest methods for taking into account the anisotropic properties of materials, which are manifested in the form of various compressive and tensile strengths.

Keywords: Coulomb-Mohr strength equations, Mises-Schleicher-Botkin strength equations, octahedral pads.
