Our experience in reconstruction of the trading areas

Annotation: This article discusses the principles and techniques of reconstruction, design and construction of trading areas. We are taking into account the possibility of it’s application in the Donetsk region. Our attention is concentrate on the specifics of the retail areas’ placement in the already established architectural environment and on the compositional-artistic and volume-planning conditions of these places. The main architectural and planning techniques for the formation of a modern trading environment in the structure of the district are noticed here. An architectural and urban planning analysis of foreign experience in the reconstruction and construction of trading areas has been carried out in our research, with further identification of patterns in solving these problems. The buildings and structures of this typological group’s construction or reconstruction principles and methods of are revealed. The main areas and directions that need a comprehensive reconstruction, including a rethinking of transport and pedestrian connections, reconstruction of a volume-planning solution and an expansion of the functional component, have been identified.
