The possibility of reconstructing sewage treatment facilities of the Donetsk People’s Republic in order to achieve technological indicators of BAT

Annotation: The work determined by calculation the possibility of reconstructing 24 sewage treatment plants of the Donetsk People’s Republic in order to achieve the technological indicators of the best available technologies. As a result of the theoretical studies performed, it was established that the main problem of converting a number of DPR wastewater treatment plants to the best available technologies is the lack of organic matter not only for biological dephosphatization, but also for denitrification. This problem, according to literary sources, is also typical for other regions of Russia. In this regard, a conclusion was made about the need for intensive development in the country of raw sludge acidification technologies and special methods for purifying return flows from the dehydration of anaerobically digested sludge. The use of leachate from MSW landfills has been proposed as an additional external source of organic substances.
