Annotation: The article discusses the features of managing major construction project (hereinafter referred to as MCP) cost reduction reserves. An analysis of approaches to considering the concept of "reserve" allowed us to formulate a definition. The MCP cost reduction reserve should be understood as: the process of identifying and using opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality, which forms the basis for making informed management decisions aimed at optimizing processes and increasing profits throughout the full life cycle (hereinafter referred to as LC) of the object. It is substantiated that in order to promptly respond to unforeseen expenses and risks, to ensure the stability of the construction process and adherence to the financial plan, it is necessary to develop a model for managing CCP cost reduction reserves. The article provides a critical analysis of the classification of reserves by various criteria. A classification of internal production reserves is proposed, allowing investment and construction companies to effectively organize the search and use of reserves. An approach to minimizing expenses when managing reserves for reducing the cost of a capital construction project is proposed.

Keywords: capital construction project, estimated cost, cost price, expenses, cost reduction reserves, classification of reserves.
