Annotation: The paper deals with the main stages of scientific research concerning design and durability provision for load carrying steel structures of high-rise construction, which was realized within the scientific school created by Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Prof. Ye.V. Gorohov. The main completed theoretical and experimental works and applications have been outlined for exhaust towers, shells of steel chimneys, cooling towers, mobile net guyed masts, steel mine headframes.
