Annotation: This article is analyzing the NSM 2000 methodology for calculating the capacity of a stopping point. The calculation and processing the results of the stopping point’s capacity was analyzed and it turned out that the capacity of the stopping point “st. Maria Ulyanova", located on Ilyicha Avenue in Donetsk city, is lower than the traffic intensity of route vehicles. Analysis of field surveys and capacity calculations identified the need to improve the efficiency and safety of stopping points in Donetsk through the development and improvement of infrastructure. An analysis of stopping points showed that a traffic light located on average up to 10 m from a stop forms a cluster of route vehicles. Bus drivers drop off their passengers not in a specially designated place, but in front of a traffic light, which reduces road safety. It has been proven by the research, that in order to operate stopping points without additional queues and downtime of route vehicles, it is necessary to reduce the intensity of their traffic by an average of 30-40%, depending on capacity.

Keywords: the capacity of bus stops, fixed-route vehicles, urban passenger transport.
